Mitch Haniger Put On Injured List
4 years agoThe Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) on the 45-day injured list. Haniger is not in the team's player pool for the start of big league camps later this week, but the Mariners can add him later if they so desire. The 29-year-old broke out in 2018, but injuries derailed his 2019 season, and he's recovering from a second core surgery and a back procedure, so there's no guarantee that he'll be ready for Opening Day in late July. With the possibility that Haniger doesn't see the field at all during the shortened 60-game season, most fantasy owners will cross him off their draft boards altogether. Jake Fraley and Kyle Lewis will benefit the most in the M's outfield if Haniger is limited or doesn't play at all this season.
