Joey Bart Headlines Giants Prospects At Summer Camp
4 years agoThe San Francisco Giants announced their 51-player pool on Monday, and it includes catcher Joey Bart, their No. 1 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. Shortstop Marco Luciano (No. 2) and outfielder Heliot Ramos (No. 3) also make up the group. Bart, Luciano and Ramos are all ranked among the top-65 prospects by MLB.com. They will join the Giants this week as players report for workouts ahead of the 60-game season. Bart may be the only one of the trio with a realistic chance to make his big league debut in 2020, but all three top prospects will at least maximize their development during the coronavirus pandemic. Tyler Heineman and Rob Brantly will compete for the backup catching job behind Buster Posey. Bart, 23, is considered the Giants catcher of the future, so he should be owned in all dynasty/keeper leagues.
