Rockies Release Kelby Tomlinson
4 years agoThe Colorado Rockies released infielder Kelby Tomlinson on Saturday, according to a source. Tomlinson had signed a minor league deal with the team back in January. The 30-year-old utility infielder didn't see any major league action last year, spending the entire season in the minors with the Diamondbacks and Mariners. In four seasons with the Giants before that, Tomlinson hit only .265/.331/.332 with three home runs, 47 RBI, 77 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 273 combined games. Even if he lands back on his feet with another organization, he'll strictly be minor league middle infield depth. Tomlinson has always been a defense-first player.
