Lance Lynn To Start On Opening Day
4 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Lance Lynn will get the nod for the team on Opening Day in late July. Of course, Lynn must remain healthy and virus-free during spring training 2.0, which will kick off late next week. The 33-year-old right-hander had one of the best seasons of his career in his first season with Texas in 2019, going 16-11 with a 3.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 10.6 K/9 in 33 starts (208 1/3 innings). Lynn saw an increase in velocity to help him achieve a career-high strikeout rate and a drop in his walk rate. Some will be skeptical that he can do it again in Texas, but the veteran right-hander will be a solid target as a third fantasy starter. It's unknown who Lynn will be facing on Opening Day as of right now.
