Mitchell Trubisky Says Bears Are Still His Team
5 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky still thinks the Bears are his team despite the fact that the team has said that there will be an open competition between himself and veteran Nick Foles this summer. "I think I was kind of pissed off in a good way. I've been motivated ever since. I think it's going to be a good competition," Trubisky said. The second overall pick in 2017 finished 2019 28th in total QBR (39.4), was tied for 27th in TD passes (17), 21st in passing yards (3,138), 32nd in yards gained per pass attempt (6.1) and 28th in traditional QB rating (83.0). It's why Chicago didn't pick up his fifth-year option and traded for Foles, who is expected to have a leg up in the competition. Trubisky's non-throwing shoulder is expected to be 100 percent after he had surgery in January, but even if he somehow keeps the starting gig, he'll be an unattractive QB2 to fantasy owners.
