Royals Finish With Two Pitchers And A College Outfielder
5 years agoThe Kansas City Royals selected Alabama outfielder Tyler Gentry with the 76th overall pick in the third round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. KC then went on to take Oregon State pitcher Christian Chamberlain in the fourth round and Eastern Illinois pitcher Will Klein in the fifth and final round. Gentry was attractive for his right-handed power to all fields, but he has the ability to hit for average and power in the pros. Chamberlain, a potential lefty reliever, is under 6-foot but has a chance to be a starter thanks to a fastball that can reach 95 mph and a hard-breaking curve that misses bats. Klein is a 6-foot-5 strong right-hander who can hit 99 mph with a straight fastball, but he'll need to upgrade his control and command to remain a starter in pro ball.
