5 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals selected Kingwood High School shortstop Masyn Winn with the 54th overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Winn is often compared to Matt Bush, the first overall pick in 2004 because he's a two-way prospect as a talented shortstop with a live arm that can reach the upper-90s on the mound. Unfortunately, he also has off-the-field concerns like Bush. The 18-year-old has a higher ceiling as a pitcher, but his size (5-foot-11, 180 pounds) and maximum effort lead to questions as to whether he can hold up as a starter in the long run. Winn profiles as a shortstop regular but needs to refine his hitting ability from the right side. But there is raw power and speed there.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
