Indians Go With Shortstop Carson Tucker Wednesday
5 years agoThe Cleveland Indians selected Mountain Pointe High School shortstop Carson Tucker with the 23rd overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. He's the younger brother of Pirates shortstop Cole Tucker. The 18-year-old prepster has great bat control at the plate and should develop more pop with the lumber as he gets stronger. Tucker has a propensity to hit to the opposite field, but he has started to drive the ball to fields more recently. He won't blow anyone away with his speed, but he has quick enough feet and hands to man the 6 in the big leagues for Cleveland. Before the draft, Tucker was committed to the University of Texas.
