5 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks selected Duke pitcher Bryce Jarvis with the 18th overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. Jarvis opened eyes last year after getting stronger with better stuff in the ACC. The right-hander threw a perfect game this spring before the season was shut down and joins Marcus Stroman as the only first-round picks out of Duke. The 22-year-old added 20 pounds to his 6-foot-2 frame from last season and threw harder as a result. He also improved his curveball to a plus pitch and features a slider and fading changeup. Jarvis' maturity in the last year is what has impressed the most, and he's also improved the control of his arsenal.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
