D'Andre Swift Has A Path To Rookie Success
5 years agoDetroit Lions rookie running back D'Andre Swift, the 35th overall pick in the second round, had the second-most yards after contact (1,334) in the SEC since 2018, according to Pro Football Focus. He's had 77 missed tackles on rushes since 2018. Swift was aligned in the slot or out wide as a receiver on nine percent of his total snaps at Georgia. A lot will depend on how effective Kerryon Johnson is and if he can stay healthy, but expect the Lions to use the combination of both running backs in tandem to keep them both fresh and productive. The 21-year-old Swift will have a limited ceiling because of the presence of Johnson, but he's at least worth an RB3/flex flier with the potential to be an excellent value pick if he winds up becoming the lead back in his rookie season.
