K.J. Hamler 2020 Outlook: Speed Demon Will Be Eased Into Slot Role
5 years agoThe Denver Broncos doubled down on the receiver position when they took K.J. Hamler in the second round of this year's draft after they took Jerry Jeudy in the first round. The 5-foot-9, 176-pound speedster from Penn State can take the top off a defense and should play in three-wide sets alongside Courtland Sutton and Jeudy out of the slot. But the Broncos suddenly have a bevy of weapons on offense, so Hamler is unlikely to see a huge target share in his first season in the league. The 20-year-old could have several big plays or big games, but they're unlikely to be consistent. And because of is smallish type body, durability could be a concern at the next level. Hamler's talent is real and he should see his role grow in the coming years, making him a great dynasty/keeper target.
