Tyler Eifert 2020 Outlook: Return To Efficiency?
5 years agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Tyler Eifert will start the season with a new team after spending his entire career as a Cincinnati Bengal. Eifert was once a promising up-and-coming presence in the league, finishing his 2015 campaign with 13 touchdowns and earning himself a trip to the Pro Bowl. However, numerous injuries relegated him to just 14 games over his next three years, with retirement a rumored possibility for the former first-round pick. While he did manage to play the first full season of his career in 2019, he only accounted for 43 receptions and three touchdowns. Eifert will now be catching passes from Gardner Minshew II, a downgrade from Andy Dalton, but still has the potential to produce as long as he can stay healthy, making him an intriguing late-round selection for those in need of a backup tight end.
