O.J. Howard 2020 Outlook: Bet on Talent Again?
5 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end O.J. Howard faces a critical season in 2020. His talent is undeniable, but that keeps his coaches and fantasy owners expecting way more than he's delivered so far in his career. The Bucs traded for Rob Gronkowski and restructured Cameron Brate's contract, meaning all three tight ends will be vying for snaps in 2020. The team did exercise Howard's fifth-year team option and did not trade him despite reportedly getting some interest from other teams, so they do seem to have some plans for Howard in 2020. It's a "bet on talent" situation here, as there's no clear path for consistent targets and he hasn't shown enough on the field yet, but that talent is still there. He's worth a late round target on upside alone as long as you have someone else set into your starting tight end role.
