Giovani Bernard 2020 Outlook: Not Much Beyond Mixon in Cincy
5 years agoCincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard didn't have much of a role playing behind Joe Mixon in the 2019 season. Bernard totaled just 404 yards and 3.2 yards per carry without scoring a touchdown. He has shown plug-and-play ability in the past when he's had a chance to start, but some beat writers are stating that Bernard could be a cap casualty before the season starts. Regardless of what team he ends up on for Week 1, it's highly unlikely that Bernard will be in a starting role, leaving him at best as a handcuff for whatever team he plays for. For now, he's worth grabbing in the last round for Mixon owners, but everyone else can likely just leave him alone.
