Willie Calhoun Says He's 100 Percent Healthy
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (jaw) said that he is back to 100 percent health after fracturing his jaw in spring training before the 2020 MLB season was suspended due to the coronavirus. "The only thing that’s really limiting me is I have numbness from my right cheek down to the middle of my chin. The doctor said I’ll have that for six months," Calhoun said. He has been able to take batting practice off a machine recently and should be ready to go whenever the season begins. Calhoun will have to wear a helmet flap from now on because he has a metal plate in his jaw. The 25-year-old former top prospect has matured all around as a player. He could break out in 2020 with everyday playing time after he hit .269 with 21 home runs and 48 RBI in just 83 games last year.
