Curtis Samuel 2020 Outlook: Boom Or Bust?
5 years agoCarolina Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel was a highly touted sleeper pick heading into the 2019 campaign as a result of his lightning speed. Unfortunately, he didn't exactly live up to the hype as he would finish the year by catching only 54 of his 105 targets for 627 yards. While his six touchdowns were two more than fellow wideout D.J. Moore, the absence of a stable signal-caller led to his subpar production. With Teddy Bridgewater now in town and new head coach Matt Rhule, 2020 is the year that the 23-year-old needs to shine if he hopes to get big money in 2021. That may prove to be much more difficult with the arrival of former New York Jet Robby Anderson. As a result, selecting Samuel as early as last season may not be the best option or worth the gamble. However, he does have an upside for those who find him floating around in later rounds of fantasy drafts for the 2020 season.
