Derrick Henry Receives Franchise Tag
5 years agoThe Tennessee Titans placed the franchise tag on running back Derrick Henry on Monday, according to a source. The projected tag for running backs in 2020 is around $12.36 million. The two sides will now have until July 15 to work out a multi-year extension. The 26-year-old was a Pro Bowler for the first time in 2019 when he led the league with 1,540 rushing yards as the engine for the Titans offense. Henry was the central figure that helped the team advance to the AFC Championship last season. He has a little more volatility because he doesn't catch many passes, but Henry has cemented himself as a strong RB1 in Tennessee's run-first offense.
