Chargers Put Franchise Tag On Hunter Henry
5 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers placed the franchise tag on tight end Hunter Henry on Friday, according to sources. This was widely expected and ensures that Falcons impending free-agent tight end Austin Hooper will be the top tight end on the open market. Henry, 25, had a career-high 55 catches for 652 yards and five touchdowns in only 12 games for the Bolts last season. He has incredible upside after just three years in the NFL, but he's yet to play more than 15 games in a single season due to various injuries. He's more risky than the upper echelon of fantasy tight ends for that reason, but he has high-end potential if he stays on the field. His true ceiling will be more clear once we know who will be the Chargers quarterback in 2020.
