Chris Sale To Be Reassessed At 10- 14-Day Mark
5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (elbow) will be reassessed at the 10- to 14-day mark of his shutdown period, according to manager Ron Roenicke. Sale was originally expected to be shut down for just one week, so the Red Sox have pushed things back with him. Already slated to open the season on the injured list, the hard-throwing left-hander has become a serious risk as a fantasy ace in the early rounds of drafts. At this point, it would be overly optimistic to expect him to pitch at all in April, and there's still a chance that this injury keeps him out for a significant period of time. Sale was already somewhat of a risk after missing time during a disappointing 2019 season with arm issues.
