Griffin Canning Shut Down For A Month
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Griffin Canning (elbow) will be shut down for around a month as he recovers from soreness in his right elbow. Canning will receive an injection of biological substances in an effort to heal his elbow inflammation. As a result, he'll open the regular season on the injured list. Patrick Sandoval and Jose Suarez have both impressed this spring and could be rotation options to begin the season. Canning could still be a candidate for Tommy John surgery, which would end his 2020 season and probably the start of 2021, but the Angels are hoping this does the trick. A popular late-round target in mixed leagues before his injury, Canning may now go undrafted in the majority of mixed leagues.
