Justin Verlander Scheduled To Start Tuesday
5 years agoHouston Astros manager Dusty Baker said that starting pitcher Justin Verlander (groin) is scheduled to start the Grapefruit League game next Tuesday against the Cardinals. Verlander was scratched from his spring outing on Thursday and instead threw a simulated game that went off without any setbacks. The Astros are just being ultra cautious with last year's American League Cy Young winner, so he should be ready for Opening Day. Verlander finished second in the AL Cy Young race in 2018 and should be one of the first few pitchers off the board in the early rounds of fantasy drafts.
