Niko Goodrum Dealing With Sore Groin
5 years agoDetroit Tigers infielder Niko Goodrum (groin) has been held out of the last two spring games as a precaution as he deals with a sore groin. Goodrum could be back in the Grapefruit League lineup on Wednesday. He should be fine for the start of the regular season. Goodrum's greatest contribution to fantasy owners is his positional flexibility, and he should be Detroit's primary shortstop in 2020. The 27-year-old (28 on Friday) slashed .248/.322/.421 with 12 home runs, 45 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 423 at-bats for the Tigers last season. He managed 16 homers and 12 steals in 2018 and isn't a bad option for infield depth in deep mixed leagues in the later rounds of drafts.
