Chris Davis Tried To Regain Strength In Offseason
5 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis said that he gained around 25 pounds in the offseason in order to regain his strength. Davis calls it "good weight" and said that being leaner hurt his power and confidence. Hitting .179/.276/.326 is bound to hurt anyone's confidence, and the power-hitting left-handed swinger has now hit under .200 in each of the last two seasons. The 33-year-old (34 in March) led the league in home runs in 2013 (53) and 2015 (47), but he's hit just 28 home runs the last two seasons. Davis' decline has been one of the most drastic in the big leagues over the last four seasons, and he shouldn't be on anyone's radar in fantasy, at least in mixed leagues.
