Randal Grichuk To Open As Starting Center Fielder
5 years agoToronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said that the team's current plan is for outfielder Randal Grichuk to start the season as the starting center fielder. Grichuk hit .232/.280/.457 with a career-high 31 home runs and 80 RBI in 151 games in his second year in Toronto in 2019. The power is real and he's in a nice environment for that, but the 28-year-old will bring down your team's average and on-base percentage. Grichuk struck out a career-high 163 times last season and walked just 35 times. He's still worth a look as a fourth or fifth outfielder in mixed leagues, however, because of his pop as an everyday player.
