Gregory Polanco Expected To Report Healthy
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco (shoulder) is expected to report to camp healthy, according to director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk. The Pirates will monitor Polanco closely in spring training after another injury plagued season in 2019 in which he played just 42 games. Polanco hit just .242/.301/.425 with six home runs, 17 RBI and three steals in his 153 at-bats. Because of his power/speed combination -- he hit 22 home runs and stole 17 bases in 2016 -- Polanco shouldn't be completely ignored late in mixed league drafts if he stays healthy this spring. He'll probably go undrafted in shallow mixed leagues, but he's still on the right side of 30 and is worth a low-risk investment in the later rounds of deeper mixed leagues.
