Fernando Tatis Jr. Won't Be Limited In Spring Training
5 years agoSan Diego Padres manager Jayce Tingler said that all the medical reports on shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (back) were positive and he won't have physical limitations during spring training. "He's been out here early, he's swung the bat, he's running, he's playing defense, so we do not expect any limitations," the manager said. Tatis reported to camp early. Tingler also said he has no plans to move Tatis to center field after the club traded Manuel Margot to the Rays. Tatis proved in his rookie season that he was worth all the hype, as he displayed five tools, but he played in just 84 games last year due to injuries. Despite the missed time, he was a Rookie of the Year candidate and hit .317 with 22 home runs, 53 RBI, 16 stolen bases and a .590 slugging percentage. Talents like this don't come around too often, so he'll come off the board within the first couple of rounds in fantasy drafts.
