Brendan Rodgers Not Expected To Return Until May
5 years agoColorado Rockies manager Bud Black said that infielder Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) is still recovering from labrum surgery in his right shoulder and isn't expected to be a factor at the big league level until around May. Until then, some combination of Ryan McMahon and Garrett Hampson will handle the second base duties. Rodgers hit just .224 with no homers in 25 games for the Rockies last season, but he did slash .350/.413/.622 with nine homers and 21 RBI for Triple-A Albuquerque in 37 games. He has exciting potential at Coors Field with everyday playing time, but getting a late start to the year won't make him very attractive in shallow mixed leagues.
