Trent Williams In Redskins Plans
5 years agoThe Washington Redskins under new head coach Ron Rivera firmly have left tackle Trent Williams in their plans for the 2020 season. They are not intent on trading him like the previous regime was. But it's unclear what Williams' intentions are after he held out in 2019 and didn't get paid. One thing to note is that the Redskins brought in a whole new training staff, which is important because most of Williams' concerns were with the previous medical staff and how they handled his injuries. Former general manager Bruce Allen wanted to trade Williams, but the new staff considers him a part of the team and wants to keep him around. It's unclear how this situation will play out, but it'd be great news for quarterback Dwayne Haskins' development if Williams stuck around, as he's one of the best left tackles in the game when healthy.
