49ers Want George Kittle Around A Long Time
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said that the team wants All-Pro tight end George Kittle around for "a long, long time." The third-year tight end will be in the final year of his rookie season in 2020. Kittle broke the single-season receiving record for a tight end in 2018 with 88 catches for 1,377 yards, and he followed that up with 85 receptions for 1,053 yards and five touchdowns in 2019. Not only is he a top-three fantasy tight end, but Kittle is an All-Pro blocker in the run game. According to Next Gen Stats, the 49ers averaged 5.1 yards per carry with him in the lineup and 3.4 yards per carry when he wasn't on the field in 2019. On runs outside the tackles, the team averaged 5.6 yards a carry as opposed to 3.3 yards per tote when he wasn't in there.
