Kris Bryant 2020 Outlook: A Bargain Price Compared to His Peers
5 years agoChicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant essentially had a normal Kris Bryant year in 2019 but no one seemed to notice. Perhaps his injury-filled 2018 – when he played in only 102 games and hit a paltry 13 home runs – has permanently left a bad taste in the mouths of fantasy players, but last season should’ve been Listerine. Even with the poor season in 2018, Bryant still had a 33 ADP in all NFBC leagues entering last season and he then proceeded to hit 31 home runs, with 77 RBI and 108 runs scored, slashing .282/.382/.521 through 147 games and 634 plate-appearances. His reward has been a 55 ADP thus far in the draft season, as 2019’s production was apparently not enough for fantasy players, even with Steamer projecting him to have a better year in every category in 2020, except for a 9-point drop in batting average. And that might just be because the computers project him for a .311 BABIP, even though Bryant has never had a season lower than last season’s .331 BABIP. Projected by Steamer to finish 40th overall in earnings in 2020, Bryant is a relative bargain at his current 55 ADP.
