ANALYSIS: Seattle Seahawks running backs are dropping like flies and rookie Travis Homer suddenly finds himself in a spot where he could be a fantasy difference-maker in Week 17.
Chris Carson (hip), Rashaad Penny (knee) and C.J. Prosise (arm) are all out for the season. The team just brought back Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch, so he'll factor into the mix in some degree but he might not see a heavy workload until the postseason.
Homer had five rushes and eight targets in Week 16 against the Cardinals. He finished the game with a total of six catches and 42 combined rushing and receiving yards. Carson and Prosise were the only other two running backs to receive carries in the game. They combined for 12 carries. So Homer is presumably the next man up in Seattle and should be set for around 15 touches in Week 17 against the 49ers.
Homer's a must-add even if it's just to block your Week 17 opponent from grabbing him. He's a fantastic flex or RB3 option in leagues of 12 teams or deeper. He's a bit risky in more shallow leagues or as an RB2 in deeper leagues, but if you're in a pinch, he might be your best option.
