Drew Lock Expected To Start Sunday
5 years agoAll signs are pointing towards Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock (thumb) coming off Injured Reserve to start in Week 13 against the Chargers after he took first-team repetitions in practice all week, according to a source. He'd be replacing Brandon Allen, who wasn't all that effective while standing in for the injured Joe Flacco. Lock was a second-round pick and has excellent arm strength, but he'll surely have his ups and downs to close out the season after a long layoff. His presence under center will give Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant some more upside, but expect inconsistent production. Lock will merely be a low-end QB2 if he makes his debut this weekend against a solid Chargers Defense.
