Emmanuel Sanders To Play A Lot In Debut
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that newly acquired wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will play "a lot" in his team debut in Week 8 against the Panthers. It could just be coach speak, as Sanders had very little time to learn and digest the team's playbook after coming over in a trade from Denver on Monday. Still, Sanders should immediately become the team's No. 1 receiver over Marquise Goodwin and Dante Pettis. But how much can we expect from an aging receiver in a new offense right away? It's not like quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been very good this year, either. Treat Sanders as a risky WR4/flex in this run-first offense until we see evidence that he'll be used often.
