Coby White 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoThe Chicago Bulls will do their best to get three point guards significant minutes from the start of the 2019-20 season, and the most intriguing option of those three is likely rookie Coby White. Taken with the seventh overall pick in June’s NBA Draft, the North Carolina product will spend more than half of his rookie season as a 19-year-old. White looked dynamic during his lone collegiate campaign, averaging 16.1 points, 4.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game, while firing up 6.6 three-point attempts (including 2.3 makes) on a nightly basis. That aggressive scoring streak bodes well for his chances of making an impact immediately for the Bulls, even as he jockeys for minutes alongside Tomas Satoransky and Kris Dunn. Unfortunately for White’s fantasy prospects, that log jam in the backcourt figures to keep him from being selected in the majority of traditional drafts. He boasts his highest value in keeper leagues, but until he consistently outdraws the club’s other guards, his upside remains limited.
