Kurt Suzuki In Concussion Protocol
5 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki (concussion, wrist) will be in the concussion protocol in St. Louis, according to manager Dave Martinez, but X-rays on his hand came back negative. "He should be ready to go tomorrow," Martinez said. Suzuki went down hard in Game 5 of the National League Division Series on Wednesday when he was hit by a pitch and had to leave the game. It looks like he dodged a bullet, though, as long as he's able to get cleared from his head injury. If healthy, Suzuki should get most of the starts behind the plate in the National League Championship Series against the Cardinals. So far this postseason, Suzuki is 0-for-12 with three walks and three strikeouts. If he starts in Game 1 on Friday, he'll be facing Miles Mikolas.
