Teddy Bridgewater Lights Up the Scoreboard in Week 5
5 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Teddy Bridgewater did his best Drew Brees impersonation in Week 5, throwing for 314 yards and four touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Though he did throw an interception, Bridgewater averaged an excellent 9.2 yards per attempt on 34 throws. He abandoned the check-downs and short passes for intermediate and deep throws, putting together a nice fantasy stat line. He also gave fantasy relevance to recent underachievers, such as tight end Jared Cook and wide receiver Ted Ginn. Despite this encouraging performance, Bridgewater has upcoming games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Chicago Bears, two teams who have not been friendly to quarterbacks this year. Bridgewater is probably best left on the waiver wire.
