Melvin Gordon Could Play Sunday
5 years agoUpdating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said that running back Melvin Gordon could play in Week 4 against the Dolphins in a limited role now that Justin Jackson (calf) has been ruled out with a calf strain. Gordon will travel with the team to Miami. The Chargers will also be without receivers Mike Williams (back) and Travis Benjamin (hip) and tight end Virgil Green (groin), so they're hurting for offensive weapons. It probably won't matter against Miami anyway, but Gordon could be active as depth behind Austin Ekeler. Ekeler has sky-high upside in this great matchup in the final week that he'll be the lead back. Even if Gordon is in uniform, don't get cute and start him in fantasy. Wait until next week.
