5 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (groin) will sit out his second straight game Thursday while nursing a groin injury. Martinez was pulled from Tuesday's game and hasn't been back since. Xander Bogaerts is taking Martinez's usual designated hitter spot as well as his clean-up spot on Thursday. Chris Owings is starting at shortstop and Christian Vazquez is moving up to second in the order. Hopefully, Martinez will be able to return this weekend, so stay tuned for further updates on his availability as the weekend nears.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
