Will Barton 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoDenver Nuggets shooting guard/small forward Will Barton is coming off an injury-riddled season that saw him average just 11.5 points on 40.2% shooting from the floor in just 41 games and he then saw those numbers take even more of a hit in the postseason with 9.1 points on 34.8% shooting from the floor. Barton admitted that after the early-season injury, he was playing catch up the rest of the season and he never quite got things going. Things are not going to get any easier for Barton in 2019-20 with the Nuggets loaded at every position. With Torrey Craig showing a lot promise last season and Michael Porter Jr. looking ready to go, the minutes at the small forward spot are a bit up in the air. We can assume Barton will be the starting three-man once the season opens, but the minutes are his to lose. He is worth a look in the later rounds, and may just turn some heads if he can put together a bounce-back campaign in the Mile High.
