Nikola Jokic 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoDenver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic cemented his place among the top fantasy basketball assets in 2018-19, earning his first All-Star and All-NBA First Team honors, while posting career highs in multiple categories. The 24-year-old Serbian averaged 20.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals. He recorded the second-most triple-doubles in the league with 12 and finished the year with 56 double-doubles. After helping the Nuggets end a six-year playoff drought, Jokic became the fourth player in NBA history to record a triple-double in his playoff debut and the first since LeBron James in 2006. With the help of more minutes, he upped his averages to 25.1 points, 13 rebounds, and 8.4 assists during the postseason. Jokic can do it all on the court and he also proved himself health-wise in 2018-19, missing only two games. He'll look to regain his three-point touch in 2019-20 after shooting only 30.7 percent last year. The Joker sank nearly 40 percent of his attempts from deep in 2017-18, so he's got potential to be an even bigger scoring threat which is a scary thought. We can expect his fantasy stock to only rise in the upcoming years.
