Welcome to the Sunday, September 8th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 8th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- There can be only one! Justin Verlander w/18th W.
- J.D. Martinez got a little Handsy-Magee. “Yeah, the wall was supposed to be higher." If only he had played in this park before. 35th HR too.
- It might be time. Edwin Encarnacion, at 36, w/.239AVG. Power always present.
- Ok, you’re getting 29 saves…..that costs .239AVG, please. Really?! Yes, sir, that is the price of a Jarrod Dyson.
- Luis Castillo was excellent even w/loss. 7.2IP, 2ER, 10K.
- Another (Jorge) Soler Flare. 41st one the year.
- Anthony Kay?! Let me take some time to check out your skills.
- Rougned Odor is 41% owned. Who are these people packaging him with to be comfortable with .202AVG?
- Marcell Ozuna has nearly bested most of his stats from the last three years & has 12SB in only 411 at-bats. Quiet professional.
- Get it, Adam Wainwright. 11th W. Brewers next. Hmmm.
- LSU Wins, everywhere. Alex Bregman w/34th slice of southern hospitality.
- Ready or not, here I come. Christian Yelich does not hide. He only seeks. 40/30 club has been found.
- Cesar Hernandez didn’t turn out the way we hoped. 9HR, 7SB, .281AVG.
- Mitch Garver(28) not trying to let Gary Sanchez be in 30HR club by himself.
- Andrew Heaney gets run support & a tainted W.
- Tim Anderson still hitting high AVG last month (.385). Only one homer a week.
- Shohei Ohtani will provide top-three round talent in 2020. 17HR, 12SB, .293AVG in 369AB. I like.
- Austin Riley continues his wind-powered energy program w/two Ks.
- Back-to-back games w/juicy-fruit blasts(21HR/15SB) for Ozzie Albies.
- Mark Melancon, continue to rescue me. 10SV.
- Someone must pay Josh Donaldson. He can reach 40 long balls.
- Joey Lucchesi was a masterful host of Rockies. 6IP, 0ER, 8K. Gracious to donate five passes.
- Wil Myers w/combo (17HR/14SB). Huge bounce-back from .217AVG in the first half.
- Kirby Yates w/40 saves & I have him nowhere. Save-life would be so much easier.
- Oh, Mattie boys! Matt Chapman(32) & Matt Olson(29) crushing the Irish tunes.
- Tony Gonsolin, you’re too gullible. You can't give out four free passes just cause they asked. Can we get this man more innings?!
- Have a great Sunday. A little baseball. A little football. A little morning walk/drive. The day is complete unless you have to stain a whole deck.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
