Ravens D/ST 2019 Player Outlook: Can They Excel With Mosley, Suggs, Smith, and Weddle All Out of Town?
5 years agoThe Ravens finished second behind the Bears in 2018, but won’t be fielding nearly the same defense. Aside from losing 17 of their 43 2018 sacks (Suggs, Z. Smith), the Ravens have lost their leading tackler in C.J. Mosley and their defensive heart in Eric Weddle. You then get to their strength of schedule. The AFC North is no longer a defensive division, and these games against the Steelers, Browns, and Bengals will be incredibly tough. Let alone the Patriots, Chiefs, Rams, Seahawks, and Texans. You can count four easy match-ups. There’s no doubt that DC Don Martindale and the Ravens will field a top 10 defense, but there’s no way I’m passing on depth at RB or WR for them. If you’re not drafting the Bears, wait until the final two rounds and schedule hunt for the first week of the season. I like the Jets at home vs the Bills.
