Scooter Gennett Starts Rehab Assignment
5 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett (groin) started his minor league rehab assignment on Monday. He's scheduled to play five days with Single-A Daytona and then move to Triple-A Louisville. Manager David Bell said that Gennett will be back in the starting lineup as soon as he's able. Cincinnati may ease him back in right away, but Gennett needs to be owned everywhere after slugging 50 long balls and 189 RBI in his first two seasons with the Reds. He was an All-Star in 2018 and finished second in the batting title race in the National League behind Christian Yelich. The 29-year-old will be making his season debut when he returns. He's still available in 40 percent of Yahoo Leagues.
