Josh Reynolds 2019 Outlook: An Injury Away From Being Useful
6 years agoJosh Reynolds had a break-out year of sorts for the NFC Champion Rams in 2018. After doing next-to-nothing in his rookie season, Reynolds was given an opportunity to shine after an injury to fellow sophomore receiver Cooper Kupp. Reynolds hauled in 26 of his 47 targets for 365 yards and five touchdowns in his eight starts during the 2018 season. He continued to start opposite Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks during the team’s playoff run, and played a pivotal role in the NFC Championship. Despite all the promise he showed in his second season, Reynolds is still firmly behind Kupp, Woods, and Cooks on the team’s depth chart, and the Rams rarely run any four wide receiver sets. Reynolds has virtually no standalone value if the team’s other receivers stay healthy, but an injury to any of the team’s top pass-catchers and Reynolds would be a hot waiver-wire pickup. The 6’3 receiver finished last year as the team’s leader in red zone receiving touchdowns along with Robert Woods. He has touchdown upside anytime he’s in the lineup. He just won’t be there while the team is healthy.
