Charlie Blackmon, Wade Davis Back From Injured List
6 years agoThe Colorado Rockies activated outfielder Charlie Blackmon (calf) and closer Wade Davis (oblique) from the injured list on Friday and designated reliever Chris Rusin for assignment and optioned second baseman Garrett Hampson to Triple-A Albuquerque in corresponding moves. Blackmon, 32, is not in the lineup on Friday but should be back in there on Saturday. He's hitting .300 (60-for-200) with 13 doubles, a National League-high five triples, 10 home runs and 31 RBI. He had also hit safely in 28 of 30 games while hitting .341 before his injury. Ian Desmond may platoon with Raimel Tapia with Blackmon back. Davis, 33, has a 2.45 ERA with seven saves and a 1.50 WHIP in 17 games and should resume his role as closer, moving Scott Oberg back to a setup role.
