Robinson Cano Activated, Hitting Third Wednesday
6 years agoThe New York Mets activated second baseman Robinson Cano (quadriceps) from the injured list on Wednesday, and he will hit third against Giants starting pitcher Tyler Beede. The 36-year-old veteran has been a shell of his former self in his first year with the Mets, hitting a very mediocre .241/.287/.371 with only three home runs, 15 runs scored and 13 RBI to begin the year. His fantasy owners are hoping that his layoff of several weeks can get him going at the plate this time around. Adeiny Hechavarria had been serving as the second baseman with Cano out, but he'll either be sent down or moved to a utility role now.
