Alex Reyes To Make One More Start In Minors
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said that starting pitcher Alex Reyes (finger) will make at least one more start for Triple-A Memphis before he joins the major league squad. "Alex is clearly a guy who, when right, we’d like to have available if the need is there. He’s definitely in the mix," Shildt said. Reyes struggled in relief early this year with St. Louis and then fractured his finger in frustration in the minors. He's posted a 4.44 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 8.9 K/9 in five starts and three relief appearances with High-A Palm Beach and Memphis on the farm this year. Reyes was once a top prospect in all of baseball and is being stretched out for a starting role with St. Louis, so he should certainly have your attention in deep mixed and NL-only leagues.
