5 years agoCincinnati Reds manager David Bell said he wanted to give first baseman Joey Votto (hamstring) an extra two days of rest with the off day on Thursday. He's expected to be back in the lineup on Friday. Votto has been a disappointment for fantasy owners so far this year with a .242/.340/.366 slash line, four home runs and only 10 RBI in 50 games. However, since May 11 he's hitting .317 (19-for-60) with a home run and four RBI, so hopefully his injury this week won't slow him down at all. Votto has traditionally been a slow starter, so his owners are hoping he'll heat up with the weather.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
