Jose Leclerc Deals With Cramping In Calves
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, Texas Rangers relief pitcher Jose Leclerc (calves) was removed from his outing early on Monday due to tightness and cramping in both of his calves. The good news is that the issue wasn't arm-related after Leclerc was unavailable on Sunday with a sore right shoulder. The bad news is his ERA rose to 5.48 after he allowed four hits (one homer) and two earned runs in two-thirds of an inning against Seattle before leaving. Leclerc hadn't allowed a run in five outings before Monday and was in the conversation to potentially start working in high-leverage situations again soon. Shawn Kelley has served as Texas' ninth-inning man of late with Leclerc demoted from the closer's role.
