Matt Chapman Homers For Third Consecutive Game
6 years agoOakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a pair of runs scored in Monday's 8-5 victory against the Los Angeles Angels. The homer was his 14th of the season, and third in as many days, and he is tied with catcher Josh Phegley for the team lead with 32 RBI. Overall he is slashing .269/.349/.552 with a team-best 13 doubles while also adding 23 walks and just 37 strikeouts over 201 at-bats. Chapman also has 111 total bases to pace the team, with outfielder Stephen Piscotty (83) a distant second. He'll look to make it four games in a row with a homer against RHP Nick Tropeano on Tuesday.
